UPEI Alumni Canada Games Place - Presented by Alumni to Current Students

Since the Alumni Gym burned down in 2001, UPEI Alumni have not had a location on campus that bore our name and recognized the generations of students that have attended UPEI.

That is changing.  We are close to our goal, and with your help, we can get there.

The 2009 Canada Games venue has a strong presence on campus. We are ensuring that UPEI Alumni do too. The new venue houses a new 400-metre track with eight competition lanes on an artificial surface surrounding a natural grass infield – MacAdam Field - with seating for more than 1200 spectators.

In addition to the naming, this special appeal to alumni supports Panther Sport through fellowships, and something unprecedented – a branded bus for our teams to travel safely and with pride.

This special appeal also creates UPEI Alumni Athlete Fellowships. The newly created fellowships will provide UPEI athletes with opportunities to act as ambassadors of UPEI, Panther Sport, and practice leadership skills by playing a key role in engaging Panther Alumni, and recruitment and retention of athletes.

This is a worthy project and you can make this happen for UPEI Alumni and current students. We are seeking valued alumni to participate in this special naming project by committing to a $1,000 charitable donation per year for five years for a total gift of $5,000.  These donations can be made by individuals, or by groups (Class years, sports temas, clubs, etc) to honour an alumna or alumnus from UPEI.

Alumni who support the appeal at this leadership level will be recognized in the UPEI Alumni Canada Games Place hospitality suite.  Those currently supporting are listed here.

All UPEI, SDU, and PWC alumni are invited to participate in this special appeal supporting a venue that adds to UPEI’s significant athletics facilities and alumni presence on campus. The new 400-metre track has eight competition lanes, and a natural grass infield: MacAdam Field. Seating is available for over 1,200 spectators.
